Barbarian Warrior

Welcome to the ultimate Barbarian page on the Internet!  Since 1996, this page has been a resource for information on the historical European Iron-Age barbarians and barbarians in the areas of fantasy, literature, art, and gaming.

The Barbarian History site is devoted to the history, civilization, and culture of the Northern European Iron-Age barbarians.  Many of the negative stereotypes and "myths" surrounding these people are challenged.  A separate section includes bios on famous barbarians, including Alaric, Boadicea, Theoderic, Attila the Hun, Clovis, Charlemagne, and others.

Barbarian Fantasy Art is a resource page for finding barbarian-related artwork on the Internet.  Several artists are linked from this page, and are well worth visiting.  The page also features artwork from budding and talented young artists located at the Elfwood Lothlorien fantasy art galleries.

Barbarian Literature contains reviews, listings, and links to barbarian-related literature on the Internet and elsewhere.  Included are special sections on Conan the Barbarian and comics with barbarians, including Asterix, Groo, and Akiko.

Games Barbarians Play contains information and resources on reenactment societies, renaissance and fantasy faires, and adventure and role-playing games featuring barbarians.

Barbarians on the Web is a resource page for finding other barbarian's home pages on the Internet.  Many interesting, funny, and "off-the-wall" sites may be found here.

Barbarian Resources contains information on where to find armor and weaponry, mead-making, and miscellaneous barbarian information.

A good question is: Why did I bother to compile all of this barbarian trivia? Well, first of all, there is a serious dearth of real information about the barbarians on the web.  I conducted numerous web searches, only to find a lot of RPG garbage regarding barbarians.  Believe me, there are many misconceptions, and most of these links do little to dispel them. Secondly, I have long identified with the ancient Teutonic and Celtic cultures. In a way, this page is a tribute to them and to their contributions toward modern society.  Please feel free to let me know if there is any other information I can include, or any other decent links on the web regarding the history of the barbarians.  I'd greatly appreciate it.
